Logo is the identity of any firm/institute/company/etc. Logo depicts the real meaning(function) of the name of the firm/company/etc (that’s why most of the logos are having the brand name as a design part).

Briefly Logo is like a child of your firm(an implicit child of yours), so the treat and design your Logo just as you treat and groom your child/children. And so your Logo is a visual representation of everything your firm/company stands for. The very moment a person views your logo, even a part of it, he should think of your company.

So this is just a very quick guide for an effective logo. I have written this article very briefly, correct me if you find some flaws/errors.

Logo should:

1)Engage the viewer: Design the logo in such a way that it must engage the viewer(of your logo) for few moments so that he/she can recognize your logo(brand) afterwards.

2)have Simplicity: Complex stuffs are hard to digest and remember and simple stuffs are memorable. So following this point your logo should be simple and sober so that the viewer will find it easy to memorize your logo(brand).

3)have Uniqueness: Try to find as many unique feature/design/etc about your brand and pour that uniqueness in your logo. Because people can easily recognize the uniqueness about anything. And also this will help you not to violate any copyrights because your logo is unique(not copied and pasted).

4)have unique color scheme: This factor is like the most ignored factor as far as I know, because nobody cares about the color theme of  the firm instead they think like “which color theme/scheme will be suitable for the design they have made? “ Taking into consideration about the aim/moto of your firm/company decide a unique color scheme, say a logo of a Bank Firm can have a color scheme of Hunter green, Royal blue or Burgundy, this color scheme creates a traditional theme of permanence and value. For more information on color theme/scheme visit : color color !!

5)By following the above main 4 key factors your job to design the logo will get almost completed, but just remember if its possible then try to keep your logo printable at any size, scalable and try to make it flat(vector type).
